3rd Annual Mt. Baker Import Run July 28th 2012

ImportMeet.com would like to officially announce the 3rd Annual Mt. Baker Import Run! Last year, we had over 60 cars in attendance despite the less than ideal weather. Our goal this year is to have over 150 cars cruise to the top of Mt. Baker.

When:
July 28th 2012
Pre-Meet – Sunset Square (Cost Cutter parking lot)
1275 E. Sunset Drive
Bellingham, WA 98226
Meet at 9:00 AM – Leave at 10:00 AM

Just like last year, NOS Energy Drink will be sponsoring the event by providing FREE energy drinks. ImportMeet.com will be providing FREE BBQ food to everyone in attendance (most likely hot dogs).

Who’s invited?
All makes and models of cars are welcome, but the primary focus will be on imports. You do not have to be a member of the site to be present, but if you RSVP with the form on this page you will receive a FREE ImportMeet.com vinyl sticker (limited to the first 100 RSVPs). Register here if you’re not already a member.

You are NOT invited if you plan on driving like an idiot. You will be asked to leave and will not be welcome at future events if you do not follow the rules listed below:

No revving, racing and/or burnouts
No speeding
No stealing
No littering
NO PASSING (due to the large number of cars that will be present)

Facebook event page: http://www.facebook.com/events/257486837682060/

What’s the plan?
We will be meeting at the Sunset Square Cost Cutter parking lot in Bellingham at 9:00am (address is posted above). A driver’s meeting is scheduled for 9:45 where we plan on going over our rules for the cruise up the mountain. This year, Poirier Arts will be taking photos of cars as they drive up the mountain at various points along the way. If you would like to purchase a high quality print of your car, visit Poirier-Arts.com after the Mt. Baker Import Run. ImportMeet.com will also have a dedicated photographer that will take pictures of individual cars as they leave the meet at the top. These will be posted in a special gallery after the event.

TEAMInnovationsNW x BOSS Innovations

I catch up with David from BOSS Innovations our most recent sponsor. Check out our interview below:

Please tell me a little bit about Boss Innovations?

Our goal is to create a place where car-lovers can come and enjoy the one thing that brings them together, the enthusiasm for cars. BOSS is your shop where you can explore ownership and the pleasure of customizing your vehicle. We can help make the dream of your car a reality by improving its performance and/or appearance.

Our mission is to promote the idea that a car is more than just a means of transportation; it is a means of expressing one’s self, based on individuality and lifestyle. We believe in innovation and pushing the borders of what’s possible, finding ways to make dreams a reality. Most of all, we believe in customer satisfaction. We want your experience to be a pleasurable one, which can be shared by people from various backgrounds.

How did your involvement with Boss Innovations come into play?

I originally became involved in the scene back in 1995, and sold used DSM parts on a very young internet, via a site called Eclipse Club. I was the tech and parts vendor for the site, and also a member of NWDSM. I had a car club named Team Sai Soku that was avid in the early scene. Eventually I transitioned the team name into Sai Soku Motorsports. I worked a full time job, and offered it my company part time from my oversized garage selling parts and doing engine/service work. I decided to change over the name to BOSS Innovations in 2004 and moved it into the full blown deal
that you see today.

What makes Boss different from other automotive Shops?

I’d say that we are unique in the variety of services that we offer, and the makes of cars that we work with. We have been known to specialize in Mitsubishi, but we do work on any make, from any year. From a 66 Mustang to a MKIV Supra. We can do your light repair/maintenance to full engine build, while also being able to offer custom interior-upholstery work to exterior paint jobs. BOSS really is about working personally with our customers to achieve their sought after goals. We take pride in being able
to build a car from the inside-out.

What companies do you partner with?

Like many other shops, we carry a full line of companies thru our various vendors. Examples are Competition Clutch, GSC, Forced Performance, ETS and much-much more.

What other services do you provide?

BOSS offers all automotive services, including but not limited to: general repair and maintenance, engine builds and swaps, tuning, fabrication, upholstery and paint. We work on any make and model; whatever you have, bring it in and let’s make something happen!

Imagecraft x TEAMInnovationsNW

Welcome our newest sponsor Imagecraft! I caught up with Brian Gerrard, owner of Imagecraft for a quick interview.

Please tell me a little about your shop

Imagecraft is a full service, custom sign and graphics shop. We specialize in custom vehicle wraps, as well as paint replacement products. Imagecraft does small one off decal designs and production as well as large nation wide signage projects.

How did your involvement with Imagecraft come into play
I started at Imagecraft 7 years ago basically looking to pay my student loans off,
in an environment I enjoyed coming to on a daily basis. In 2010 the owner came to me with an offer to sell me the company in hopes of keeping his baby alive.

What makes Imagecraft different from other Vinyl and Graphics Shops?

Here at Imagecraft we pride ourselves in the quality and details of the products / projects we put out on the streets. Most other sign shops will charge an arm and a leg for small one off signs or decals, as were here at Imagecraft we have a lower overhead than most other local sign shops, and will tackle even the smallest projects. Imagecraft also stands behind our products 100% and offer material specific warrantees.

What companies do you partner with?

We partner with a few local companies to help us with needs that we can not handle in house. Relevant to the automotive industry:

GodSpeed Fabrication – Builds everything from Race Cars to Rat Rods. Specializing in roll cage design and fabrication, acrylic window replacement, and race car tow hooks to name a few.

Driven Products – Is my go to for any wheel and tire needs. They are a full service wheel shop and sell a number of high end wheels, and only the best rubber to hit the pavement.

Electric Branch Creative – Travis is our outside designer, he runs a full service brand marketing firm with the capabilities of website design, logo creation, and branding strategies to name a few…

American Products – Specializes in everything plastic. From custom enclosed acrylic speaker boxes, to small acrylic plaques to display information in front of show cars.

What other services do you provide?

We provide full design services, digital printing on Vinyl, banners, as well as

high quality photo reproduction and digital printing on canvas materials. We can install paint protection films from 3M and other PPG films, as well as tints for headlights and tail lights on most vehicles.

Where can we can we reach you?

We are located on the West Valley Hwy between Auburn and Kent. I am at the shop pretty much every day Monday thru Friday, except when we have large installations of site that need extra hands to complete. Our phone number is 253.804.8001, and the e-mail is info@imagecraftinc.com.

Where can we find you next?
Other than at the office 9-5, I can be found out at the Des Moines Creek Trail in the summer months surfing the pavement on my Ulu Longboard, and in the winter time I will generally be found at Crystal Mountain somewhere out in Southback, enjoying the fresh mountain air.

I will make it out to a few shows this year when I get the new wrap on my Evo 9. We are going to be printing the wrap in the next few weeks, and will post photos of my vehicle once complete.

English Racing x TEAMInnovationsNW

We are proud to announce our newest sponsorship with English Racing!!!

“English Racing is a special place in the Mitsubishi world. To find a shop that is truly an expert in building motors to take 1000+ hp, building transmissions, tuning, fab work, and getting this all under one roof is rare. The Team started back in 2004 and has learned and compiled knowledge until now with no loss in team members. How many shops have 3 tuners, 3 Engine builders all under one roof that can all agree on doing things the same way. If there is debate in the shop, calculators, tape measures, engine simulators, or whatever else is needed to prove the point comes out and gets put to use. All our knowledge is based off experience and proven actions, not theories and opinions.” Englishracing.net

I caught up to Myles from English racing to get the low down on the shop.

How did your involvement with English Racing come into play?
I am a good customer turned Employee! I had my car tuned here back in 2008 when i first put a turbo kit on my integra haha.
Those were the days, stock GSR on 10psi making like 300whp lol. Didn’t really have to worry about anything breaking!
A little over a year ago Lucas called me up asking me if i wanted to work for him, explained what my job would be and what not. I had been at the same job for 4 years at that time and was about fed up with it, so i came to English Racing. Took me a while to learn the Evo motors and what not but i am happy to be here, June 6th was my 1 year anniversary!

What makes English Racing different from other Tuners?
We are a true specialist shop. We are Racers and know how and what makes a car work. We are ALL Friends, Lucas the owner knows how stuff goes. TJ has been here 8 years, Jake for 7, Jeff 5 and Aaron 4 and me 1 year but have known everyone here for a very long time.

We work as a Team.

What companies do you partner with?
We partner up with Extreme Turbo Systems, GSC Power-Division, Forced Performance turbochargers, R&R Rods, Fuel Injector Clinic, and we buy a lot of our engine parts from Real Street Performance.

What other services do you provide?
We are your one stop shop, we are known for Mitsubishi’s but we can work on Quads, Toyota’s, Honda’s, Subaru’s, Nissan, Dodge, Chevrolet, Ford and pretty much every car make out there. Hoping to break into the Porsche market here in the NW very soon.
